What an ICL is

A phakic intraocular lens adds focusing power without removing anything. The most widely used family is STAAR Surgical's Visian ICL and EVO ICL, made of a collagen copolymer (collamer). Why the premium? A meaningful share of the fee is hardware: a manufactured lens ordered per eye to your sizing. The toric question also matters. If your astigmatism is corrected inside the lens, the lens costs more. Ask whether your quote assumes a spherical or toric implant.

How the trip works

Because the lens is chosen from your measurements, few clinics will give a firm ICL price before biometry. Some can pull common powers from stock; others order from abroad, which can add days or weeks. Ask at the first contact whether your likely lens is typically in stock and how many days to allow.
